Offers programs to educate consumers and connect them with the resources they need to increase energy efficiency and use of renewable and local energy sources. Encourages the development and responsible use of solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass and other renewable and/or sustainable energy sources and technologies as alternatives to fossil fuels and nuclear power. Connects Vermonters seeking guidance and assistance with volunteers who will discuss options available and offer assistance with completion of applications.

Provides an offender re-entry program that is designed to address and repair the harm done to the community and the offender's victims while reducing the barriers to successful re-entry of offenders back into the community as citizens.

Offers a series of health-related workshops and presentations for the community, many of which are offered by health professionals. Information about local wellness programs is provided on line and is also published in flyer form. Topics may include movement and exercise, nutrition, chronic disease self-management, and health/disease specific support group meetings.

Offers a 12 Step recovery program for individuals who wish to stop the compulsive behavior of drinking. Also provides information about dates, times, and locations of meetings.

Head Start (ages 3-5) and Early Head Start (ages 0-3) provide high-quality education, healthy meals, medical and dental screenings, and holistic support for the entire family to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Head Start also connects families to social services and resources for housing, employment, education, food, health, mental health counseling, substance use disorder, domestic violence, English as a Secondary Language, and other family needs. Space is reserved for children with special needs (hearing, speech, vision impairment, emotional or physical challenges). Families with foster children are automatically eligible. A limited number of families that exceed the income guidelines can enroll.

Provides tax information and assistance with tax filing preparation and e-filing of federal and state income tax returns, as well as assistance with filing for renters' rebates and homestead declarations at three locations. Also provides services for those filing basic self-employment returns (sole proprietors who do not carry inventory or depreciation).

Provides public awareness and education to promote community wellness and to prevent the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, with an emphasis on youth substance use prevention. Collaborates with other wellness programs, schools, and communities to help them promote healthy behaviors and reduce health risks.

Provides youth employment services that include vocational testing and assessment to help identify skills, talents and experience; career guidance to help plan and map out a career strategy; tutoring and study skills training; summer employment opportunities; paid work experience including internships and job shadowing; leadership development opportunities; and support services to help overcome employment barriers.

Offers the services of Certified Recovery Coaches/Peer support specialist, who work both one-on-one with people on all paths to recovery to help them plan and make positive improvement in their lives, as well as with their families. Recovery Coaches also help guide people in recovery to finding resources such as detox and treatment, housing, food, heat, clothing, and transportation, and resources for improving relationships and getting connected with others in recovery with whom they can relate.

Provides in-school youth the opportunity to develop the personal and professional skills needed to succeed in the job market. Offers customized training based on each individual's needs.

Also offers seasonal Farm to Family coupons that can be used at farmers markets and farm stands, and free seed packets for summer garden plantings. Provides fixings for Thanksgiving at Newport and St. Johnsbury food shelves. Helps individuals and families apply for food benefits.

Provides long distance bus service from Vermont to major New England cities and to some neighboring Canadian cities. Stops at several towns throughout Vermont; ticket offices are available in Brattleboro and White River Junction.

Provides contact information directories for Vermont Agency of Education, Supervisory Unions/Districts, Vermont Public and Private Schools, and Vermont Higher Education, including addresses and phone numbers. Also provides a directory of Vermont Public Schools' Homeless Liaisons.

Provides legal information and lawyer referral services to ensure that individuals know their legal rights and how to assert them when facing discrimination or legal concerns.

Provides mental health and substance use disorder services that include psychiatry, clinical mental health counseling, screening for drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, screenings for depression, medications, prescriptions, and medication management, and referrals to specialists.

Offers a mail service for those without a permanent address, often used as a temporary mailing address.

Recruits volunteers to provide relief to victims of disasters, and to help prepare for, and respond to emergencies nationally and internationally. The Red Cross provides training for most volunteer positions and the level of training varies according to the requirements of the position.

Provides Work Incentives Counselors who can help individuals decide whether to work, keep necessary benefits while they work, and avoid work/benefits conflicts. The program is also available to youth in high school who are in transition to adult life. Youth and their families can receive accurate information about the impact of employment on all Federal and State benefits they receive. Provides the Vermont Work/Benefits Helpline.

Provides comprehensive health care with a focus on wellness and preventative care. Services include diagnosis and treatment in children, adolescents and adults as well as physical health examinations, health screenings, family planning, immunizations and laboratory testing. Provides onsite coordinated primary care, mental health services, and substance abuse services to enhance access to appropriate prevention, treatment, recovery and wellness services and activities.

Provides services and programs for victims of crime, which includes informing victims about their rights, offender status, safety planning, and wrap-around services. Offers assistance to victims participating in the offender release process or parole board hearings, reviews requests for victims concerning offender contact, and referrals to community support resources such as support groups and counseling.

Offers a financial fitness education program that includes information on budgeting, saving, debt reduction, spending plans, and building credit.

Provides fixed-route public bus transportation with routes that include a Dartmouth Downtown Shuttle, a Dartmouth Health Medical Center Shuttle, and nine additional routes connecting the Upper Valley communities of Hartford and Norwich in Vermont and Hanover, Lebanon, Enfield, and Canaan in New Hampshire. A commuter bus is available, transporting riders from Enfield and Canaan to Lebanon in New Hampshire.

Provides a list and online map of all permanent Vermont locations where unused prescription drugs, including needles/sharps, can be dropped off throughout the year. Offers free prepaid postage envelopes for mailing in unused dry prescription drugs. Also provides information about safe disposal of needles/sharps as well as an online link to all National Drug Take Back Day sites.

Provides monthly cash assistance to low-income households in which a person's care or services are essential to an elderly or disabled person's remaining in his or her home. Benefit can be directly deposited into a bank account, or put onto an EBT card.

Provides rehabilitative therapies including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language pathology to help individuals recovering from surgery, stroke, or illness. Also provides pediatric rehabilitative therapies.
