Provides ongoing family support to all military personnel and families. Operates as a one-stop service center which provides assistance, information and referral to other agencies and organizations that assist service members and their families in both the military and civilian sectors. Services include emergency assistance, education and training, Tricare and insurance issues, ID cards, family care plans, counselor support, employer support, financial, family advocacy, legal property and household issues, reintegration and adjustment concerns.

Provides in-home visitation by a registered nurse to women during pregnancy and following delivery for a mutually agreed upon period of time. Services provided to the family during this time are decided upon in partnership with the family and are particular to each family's needs and desires. Services may include healthy pregnancy information, prenatal nutrition counseling, early childhood development information, parenting education, home safety information, as well as referrals to healthcare, childcare, continuing education, job training, and other community support services.

Pursues the preservation and protection of endangered land resources from indiscriminate development. Partners with local and statewide conservation organizations to conserve Vermont lands for the future. Conservation efforts include acquisition of development rights transferred through conservation easements for Vermont farms, working forest projects, and community projects. Also offers an online directory of conserved land open to the public for recreational trails.

Provides a fee-based energy efficiency service. Trained staff provide a comprehensive energy audit, including diagnosis of energy problems due to air infiltration, heating and cooling loss, or inefficient household systems. Also provides a list of solutions, and an estimate of material costs and predicted benefits and savings for each recommended efficiency measure.

Provides representation to individuals in the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections. Provides representation to juveniles in delinquency proceedings, and to parties in juvenile proceedings including children in need of care and supervision (CHINS) and termination of parental rights cases. Individuals in extradition, probation or parole revocation proceedings are also represented.

Provides a crisis intervention program that offers face-to-face recovery coaching to individuals admitted to Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center and Springfield Medical Center Emergency Departments.

Develops partnerships, coordinates volunteers, and supports program initiatives that address specific issues in the areas of education, income and health. This includes programs that strengthen financial stability, financial literacy, individual nutritional and physical well being, early learning, addiction prevention. Additionally, support is provided for programs addressing basic needs such as housing, food, and accessibility in service communities.

Provides monthly supplemental nutrition assistance benefits to low-income households to purchase food. Households in which any person is younger than 65 access their benefit using a Vermont Express electronic benefits transfer (EBT) debit card. If everyone in a household is 65 or older, or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), benefits are deposited as cash into the recipient's bank account. Expedited benefits are available in emergencies and other specific situations. EBT cards may also be used to buy fresh, local products at certain farmers' markets in Vermont. A list of farmer's markets that can accept EBT cards is available on the website. In addition, 3SquaresVT benefits may be used for seeds and plants that grow fruit and vegetables at any retailer or farmer's market that accepts EBT cards.

Answers questions related to the individual federal tax return, adjustments to tax accounts, taxes on wages or bank accounts, and IRS letters and notices. Offers option of payment plans if taxpayer cannot pay the full amount owed. Helps with the preparation of a heavy vehicle use tax return. Provides state income tax and related tax forms, schedules, and publications for individuals and corporate and business entities. Provides a variety of core services in the communities it serves, including emergency support and assistance for low-income families and individuals in crisis. Other services include problem-solving support, employment goal setting, budget counseling, tenant-landlord mediation, emergency food services, and emergency assistance with other basic needs such as utility payment assistance. Also provides assistance with filling out benefit program applications and other forms.

Provides information about testing for COVID-19, including take home test kits, tips for self-testing, test types and details, test expiration dates, and when to get tested. Also provides up-to-date information about COVID-19, Flu, and RSV vaccinations in Vermont, including eligibility information for adults and children, as well as an interactive map where individuals can locate a vaccine site near them, and a link on how to request a new or lost immunization record.
