Provides representation to individuals in the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections. Provides representation to juveniles in delinquency proceedings, and to parties in juvenile proceedings including children in need of care and supervision (CHINS) and termination of parental rights cases. Individuals in extradition, probation or parole revocation proceedings are also represented.

The Office of Defender General is a state government agency serving Vermont that provides legal representation for individuals in need charged with serious crimes, in delinquency, and juvenile proceedings. Services include representation in Supreme Court appeals, for children in the custody of DCF, and for persons in the custody of the Commissioner of Corrections.
