Coordinates with other providers in the community to help individuals and families obtain or maintain housing. May offer limited financial assistance with rent, rental deposit, and other payments. Also provides information on tenant rights and responsibilities.

Provides confidential, client-directed information and assistance in gaining access to government and community programs including housing, transportation, Meals on Wheels, congregate meals, food stamps, Medicaid, health-care insurance, legal services, adult day services, hoarding issues, and mental health services. Options Counseling is also available to enable older adults to maintain independence. Maintains a regional listing of in-home assistance providers available to assist seniors with continuing to live independently at home.

Provides formal supervision of offenders released conditionally on probation or parole or confined to their homes or other venues in the community.

Administers the Vermont Restitution Fund which makes payment available to crime victims who suffer financial hardship and have been awarded court-ordered restitution from the offender. The Restitution Unit is able to pay victims their restitution as soon as it has been ordered by the court. The Restitution Unit collects from the offender to reimburse the Fund.

Offers apprenticeships in the following areas: Certified Public Bookkeeper, Manufacturing Production Technician, Medical Assisting, Medical Records Assistant, and Pharmacy Technician. All offerings pair credit-bearing classes with on-the-job learning.

Provides families and individuals with a transition program that moves them from experiencing homelessness to long-term self-sufficiency and housing stability. Program includes extensive case-management for budgeting, parenting, crisis management and intervention.

Provides restorative interventions for youth and youthful offenders involved with the juvenile justice system, at risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice system, and/or truant. Aims to decrease risk factors and strengthen protective factors in order to reduce or eliminate further involvement in the system.

Helps youth with disabilities plan and prepare for life after high school. HireAbility Vermont vocational counselors work with both students and school personnel. Services include career counseling, assessment, job search skills, work experiences, exploration of post-secondary education and training programs, workplace readiness, instruction in self-advocacy, and guidance and information on IEP and transition planning, 504 accommodations, benefits planning, and other needed services.

Administers the Meals on Wheels program. Registers and enrolls eligible individuals for meals and coordinates delivery schedules with volunteers. Meals are fully cooked and delivered refrigerated for reheating. Special diets are accommodated.

Provides money management counseling services that include credit counseling, debt counseling, personalized budgeting, student loan counseling, bankruptcy counseling, and financial literacy training.

Receives and addresses consumer complaints regarding national banks and federal savings associations for individuals who have been unable to resolve an issue with the bank directly.

Provides nurses and/or other trained professionals who visit the homes of women during pregnancy and after childbirth to help the women improve their personal health and development during the prenatal period and learn to care for their infant. Services include at-home assessments for expectant mothers and infants, postpartum assessments, newborn evaluations, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, parenting information, family adjustment support, skilled nursing care if needed, and assistance with coordination of family services.

Provides one-stop centers that offer an array of employment and training services. Helps job seekers assess skills and interests, explore training options, create a job search plan, write a resume, and find a job. Job seekers can access computers, educational resources, and information on employers. Training and pre-job assistance services include ICAN, which pairs qualified individuals with an employment coordinator to assist them with resources, support services, job readiness skills, case management, and job placement.

Provides a subsidy for eligible applicants that enables the family or individual to find a privately-owned apartment of their choice.

Provides a warm, dry place for people in need due to power outages, flooding, or extreme cold temperatures.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Provides seasonal food items as part of their regular offerings prior to the holiday.

Provides comprehensive services to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other pervasive developmental disorders. Individuals are assigned professional service coordinators who are responsible for clients' Individualized Support Agreements and for assisting them in achieving success in the community. Services include personal support and case management; specialized residential programs; psychiatric and medical care; vocational and skill acquisition training; family support services; and support services to individuals in nursing homes. Provides a spectrum of supported living arrangements to meet the needs of each person. Clinical services for individuals include provision of a psychiatrist to provide evaluation, medication checks, and after-hours consultation on medication issues. Also provides care coordination services.
