The EDL /ID is not accepted for international air travel. The EDL/ID is a Real ID-Compliant License, and a federal, Western Hemisphere Travel (WHT) Initiative-compliant document.

The Wood Warms Program provides two free cords of wood to eligible households that heat entirely with wood or that supplement their primary heat source by burning wood.

Offers adult education and literacy instruction that provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire the education and literacy skills they need either to complete a secondary education or to better achieve post-secondary/career goals. Instruction is provided at six learning centers, as well as at job sites, libraries, homes, and other locations. Services include Functional Literacy Education (Reading, Writing, Math), Computer Literacy, Financial Literacy, English Language Learning and Citizenship Preparation, High School Completion Program, General Education Development (GED) Credentialing, Career and College Readiness, and other certifications.

Provides a variety of services to support the health and well-being of neighbors on a temporary basis. Services may include transportation, friendly visiting, certificates and forms assistance, yard work, assistance with errands, homemaker assistance, and minor home repairs and maintenance. Also provides one-time emergency financial assistance to individuals facing a short-term crisis as well as referrals to other agencies for more long term needs.

Provides rescue services to dogs at risk, placing them in foster homes and ultimately connecting them to adoptive households. Offers education and training to individuals and families on behavior modification, pet care, and pet owner responsibilities. Also provides volunteer opportunities, including fostering. Does not provide a shelter; rescued animals are fostered in private homes. Offers a Senior to Senior Program matching older adults with older dogs.

Provides free temporary housing and care for animals in emergency situations (e.g. domestic violence, homelessness, and medical issues). If a pet owner is suddenly hospitalized or displaced by a house fire, for example, Upper Valley Human Society can take care of their pets so that they don’t have to surrender them. Emergency boarding is for a two-week period and can sometimes be extended, depending on the situation. Offered on a case-by-case basis due to limited capacity.

The Community Legal Information Center (CLIC) offers free walk-in legal reference services, including legal research databases, legal self-help books, and Vermont legal materials. Also provides an Ask a Law Librarian Information Line and an online civil legal resources flowchart by county.
