Offers restorative justice programs that require that the person who committed the offense meet with a group of trained citizen volunteers to be accountable to their community. Affected parties and others impacted by the incident are welcomed into the process. Offenders are expected to engage in dialogue with the Panels or conference attendees and the affected parties in order to deepen their understanding of the harm they caused to the individuals and their community. They also must collaboratively develop and complete activities to make amends, reduce the likelihood to re-offend, and connect positively with their community.

Provides Work Incentives Counselors who can help individuals decide whether to work, keep necessary benefits while they work, and avoid work/benefits conflicts. The program is also available to youth in high school who are in transition to adult life. Youth and their families can receive accurate information about the impact of employment on all Federal and State benefits they receive. Provides the Vermont Work/Benefits Helpline.

Educates the public about alternative, renewable energy sources, promotes investment in clean, safe renewable energy, and works to reduce toxic threats to the environment and human health throughout the state. VPIRG is also the lead advocacy agency for accuracy in labeling, requiring clear and specific disclosure of all ingredients, including genetically modified organisms (GMOs), that go into the production of food being sold in Vermont.

Pays a portion of home heating bills for households meeting income eligibility requirements. Seasonal Fuel Assistance is not designed to cover all of the costs of heating a home or apartment. Active Seasonal Fuel households are eligible for free weatherization services.

Recruits volunteers and places them in community service jobs at non-profit organizations based on their experience, knowledge and skills. Volunteers receive training, assessment, recognition for their contributions and receive supplemental insurance coverage.

Provides comprehensive medical care to individuals of all ages including physical exams, immunizations, and routine screenings, treatment of short-term injuries or illnesses, treatment of chronic illnesses, care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, family planning services, nutritional counseling, physical therapy, and other special programs. Provides preventive health care, as well as diagnosis and treatment of illness in children, adolescents and adults. Services include primary medical care such as physical health examinations, immunizations, acute and chronic health screenings, obstetric care, laboratory testing, and birth control counseling. HireAbility VT works closely with employment specialists at Supported Employment Programs who provide a wide range of services designed to teach necessary skills, help a person transition into a job, and ensure that employers meet the needs of their employees.

Places individuals in paid community service positions, up to 20 hours per week, for the purpose of training and improvement of skills that may lead to permanent employment. Participants may be offered supportive services such as transportation, counseling, work equipment, and other supports.

Provides information and guidance to consumers about all types of commercial insurance. Addresses questions and concerns, including the appeal of health insurance claim denials. Provides information about insurance rates and products, state insurance laws, licensed Vermont companies, and individual agents.

Provides a form for the collection of information from individuals who may need extra help during disasters or area emergencies. Information becomes available to 911 dispatchers during a declared disaster. Dispatchers will then contact local emergency responders or volunteers where the person is located and the type of care and support needed. The CARE program is a collaboration between E-911, and Vermont Emergency Management.

Provides health care services at all community outpatient clinics. Homebound Veterans are served by Home Based Primary Care (HBPC). Additional services can include basic nursing services, telemedicine, patient advocacy, hospice care, and physical, occupational, or speech therapies through a Skilled Home Care service.
