Provides assistance for people who need housing including information and guidance about rental costs; how to select affordable housing that meets individual needs; and how to provide for insurance, utility costs, and other requirements related to paying for housing. Coordinates with other providers in the community to help individuals and families obtain or maintain housing. May offer limited financial assistance with rent, rental deposit, and other payments. Also provides the Rent Right Program, designed to provide participants with the skills, materials, and confidence necessary to find and maintain stable housing. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a Preferred Renter Certificate, which shows landlords that they have made an investment into being a good tenant.

The Resource Specialist supports families in reaching their goals related to maintaining safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments, by providing resources, referrals, and direct support with benefits/services navigation, application assistance, housing information, and advocacy.

Conducts confidential ongoing outreach to current and former military members and their families, to identify potential needs and provide access to available services, including advanced outpatient mental health clinical services such as counseling and traumatic brain injury assessment. Also provides dental referral for veterans. Members of the outreach team can meet with veterans and families at home, at work, or any place in the community.

Offers a year long recreation program facilitated by staff and volunteers. Activities encourage development of communication and social skills through modeling and practice. Individualized skills and goals are identified and worked on through group play and exploration in the community. Some online options may be available through Zoom. Also offers an in-person summer camp called Camp Aspire. Activities include boating, cooking over a fire, hiking, horseback riding and arts and crafts.

Provides victims of sexual assault with access to a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and, if they wish, a Victim Advocate. SARCs and Advocates are not counselors or licensed clinicians, but are a confidential resource specialists. SARCs and Advocates will explain military reporting options available to the victim and connect them to appropriate medical, behavioral health, legal, spiritual, and financial resources available through the military.

Provides short-term flood response services including damage reporting, organizing volunteers, mucking, gutting, and treating mold caused by flooding. Volunteers are also available to deliver food, water, medications, tents, and other supplies.

Administers licensing and license renewal for physicians and podiatrists, and certifies physician assistants and anesthesiology assistants in the state of Vermont. The Board also investigates complaints of unprofessional conduct by its licensees and takes action where appropriate. Provides legal advice or representation for Vermonters with physical or developmental disabilities when their legal problems arise from their disabilities. Cases include guardianship, special education, discrimination in employment and housing, access to health care, and Social Security Disability-related benefits problems.

Provides services including: representative payee, information and referral, and facilitates support and advocacy groups, including Self Advocates Becoming Empowered-Rutland (SABE-R) and the Aktion Club.

The program provides monthly cash payments, support services, help with childcare, transportation, and school supplies, and may provide benefits through Reach Ahead if the parent is working and the PSE grant closes.

Offers a recovery program for individuals who struggle with substance use. Provides an opportunity to meet other individuals who are working hard to stop using substances and support each other as parents. The program offers the opportunity to form close relationships with peers and recovery coaches that can support them in developing a healthy lifestyle that is rewarding and free from substance use.

Provides farmers with opportunities to purchase or lease affordable farmland so that they can start up or expand agricultural businesses. Helps conserve farmland for long-term productive use.

Provides a helpline that gives information, resource referrals and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers and the public.

Provides information, support, and referrals for individuals diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), as well as their family members and caregivers. Experienced LBD caregivers are available to listen to clients, provide emotional support, share their own stories, and provide referrals to helpful resources. Also provides an online library of literature and educational materials regarding LBD, including resources for patients, families, caregivers, and medical professionals. Other options include online support groups.

Offers a diversion-like program that connects participants with substance use, mental health, and other community-based service supports, regardless of the participants criminal history, with the aim of improving the person's health and reducing future adverse involvement in the justice system. Successful completion of program results in a dismissal of the criminal charge.

Offers new and diverse learning opportunities for serving the intellectual needs of Vermont’s older citizens through non-credit courses and programs offered at an affordable cost.

Provides prevention and rapid re-housing assistance for Veterans and their families to help them obtain or retain stable housing. Program includes needs assessment, intensive case management, and financial and housing counseling. May also provide referrals to, and assistance with, other Veteran benefits and programs in the community.

Provides a range of services to improve the safety and wellbeing of children and families. Services include care coordination, family safety planning, family time coaching and family finding.

Assists caregivers in accessing supportive services and programs for which they may be eligible. Caregivers may apply for small grants from the Dementia Respite Program enabling them to have a period of respite from their caregiving responsibilities. Support services may also include coordination of support groups, caregiver trainings, and self-care informational bulletins and newsletters.

Provides access to community resources, including financial, medical, and legal information. In addition, a coordinator works with peers to improve options for independent living in the community.

Offers outings for children with special needs to experience the community and have fun, with an opportunity to enhance their social skills and make new friends within a supportive environment.

Provides community food shelf services. Personal care items may be available depending on donations. Individuals pick out food based on household size. Also provides Thanksgiving turkeys. Delivery service is available for individuals who are unable to get to the food shelf in person.
