Provides shelter services for families experiencing homelessness

Provides victims of sexual assault with access to a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) and, if they wish, a Victim Advocate. SARCs and Advocates are not counselors or licensed clinicians, but are a confidential resource specialists. SARCs and Advocates will explain military reporting options available to the victim and connect them to appropriate medical, behavioral health, legal, spiritual, and financial resources available through the military.

Serves as the decision-making authority in utility regulatory cases. Consumers may file utility complaints directly with the Public Utility Commission (PUC). More often, the PUC becomes involved in resolving consumer disputes after a formal complaint is filed and a contested case proceeding. The commission also has the ability to order a moratorium on utility shut-offs in case of disasters.

Offers ongoing support groups. Groups provide emotional support, information, and resources to help participants process and heal from their experiences.

Provides a toll-free number connecting to services from a BVA Accredited National Service Officer. Reach First helps families overcome temporary, short-term financial crises and avoid the need for longer-term assistance, providing case management, financial help, and support services. Reach Ahead helps families transition from Vermont's Reach Up or Post-Secondary Education (PSE) programs to working, with supports to help maintain a job, including cash incentives for working and help paying for car repairs, work clothes, and work supplies, a 100% childcare subsidy, and a cash benefit for food.
