Eligibility

Individuals whose primary diagnosis is psychoactive chemical abuse, dependence, or withdrawal who are medically stable and who are in need of a safe and supportive environment for detoxification and stabilization.

Service area

Provides a crisis intervention and assessment program that includes telephone or face-to-face consultation and assessment for admission to local and/or statewide residential crisis programs. Also provides crisis intervention referral services and follow-up. When deemed warranted by the emergency intervention specialist, individuals may be placed in a Public Inebriate Program bed, a safe alternative to incarceration for individuals who require ongoing supervision during withdrawal from drug and/or alcohol intoxification.
