Eligibility

A) You have a failed or inadequate water supply (usually a well or spring), wastewater system (also called septic system, septic tank, leach field, dry well, or cesspool), or both, AND B) You are a residential property owner, AND C) The dwelling is a single-family owner-occupied residence or an owner-occupied multi-family dwelling with no more than four units, AND D) Your household income is less than 200% MHI (approximately $120,000/year). Households with less than $65,000 household income are eligible for additional assistance.

Vermont state
Provides financial assistance to repair or replace failed or inadequate on-site wastewater and drinking water systems (usually a septic system or a well) for Vermonters disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Once eligibility has been verified, applicants who have not had the system failure confirmed by a licensed designer, engineer, or state official will schedule a visit with a state official who can confirm system failure. Failed systems that meet the eligibility criteria and been repaired or replaced after March 3, 2021 are also eligible to apply for funding.
