Offers business advising to eligible farmers, agriculturally-related businesses (including food businesses), forest products enterprises, and forest landowners. A network of advisers provides business planning and technical assistance. The Viability Program also makes grants available on a competitive basis when funding allows.

VERMONT HOUSING AND CONSERVATION BOARD

Vermont Housing and Conservation Board (VHCB) is an independent, state-supported funding agency providing grants, loans and technical assistance to nonprofit organizations, municipalities and state agencies for the development of affordable housing and for the conservation of agricultural land, recreational land, natural areas and historic properties in Vermont. VHCB also administers an AmeriCorps program, the Farm & Forest Viability Program, and the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Program that provides financial and technical assistance to income-eligible landlords and homeowners in Vermont. Also provides administrative and financial support for the Land Access and Opportunity Board.
